The Business of Art
In conjunction with Chestnut Creek School of the Arts and Round the Mountain, the Blue Ridge Crossroads Small Business Development Center will host a day-long conference focused on embracing and understanding the business side of selling your art. Featured speaker Marc Wilson is a retail consultant and well known presenter. During Marc’s sessions he will cover a variety of topics including how to sell your art without selling your soul, master merchandizing basics, marketing and advertising your artwork, building your brand, creating a social media presence, artisan statements, and business plans. Throughout the day a variety of roundtable discussions will take place including pricing products, website development, teaching, and bookkeeping.
The conference will be held on Tuesday, September 30th from 9am – 4pm. The cost to attend is $15 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. You may bring your artwork to display in the Crossroads Institute lobby during the event. Please join us for a day of networking and learning.
