Small Town & Merchant Program
Small Town & Merchant Program
Time:
8:00 am
Small, independent merchants are an integral part of any community. They provide jobs and investment while helping create local character that makes communities unique and special. Running a small shop or restaurant is a difficult task which brings with it a number of distinctive challenges, however. In an effort to provide small retail business owners the tools to navigate these difficulties, Mark Wilson of the Virginia Small Business Development Center Network will be offering a “Small Town and Merchant Program” (STAMP) seminar on March 8th at the Crossroads Institute from 8:00 to 9:30 am. This program will provide business owners with advice on the particular advertising, staffing, merchandising, and inventory control problems that small retailers face. As an added bonus, Mr. Wilson will be available to visit a limited number of local businesses and offer them one-on-one business consultations on March 8th and 9th.
